How to Keep Inspired!

Today, the readers of this blog are on my mind. In a frenzied world of turmoil and uncertainty; individuals and institutions are hustled and bewildered and often looking for hope. The news headlines do not help. Many of the top 3 headlines are guaranteed to take anxiety levels a notch higher. An anxious person will not relate well with colleagues or family members; is likely to get easily depressed; invariably making irrational decisions. An organisation will only be as healthy as its’ people. Any organisation full of anxious persons is likely not to have innovative ideas or products.  I am more productive when I am calm. The words in Psalm 91 keep me motivated and encouraged. Individuals and Institutions would benefit greatly from these words of inspiration.

Psalm 91: New International Version (NIV)

Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High
    will rest in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress,
    my God, in whom I trust.”

Surely he will save you
    from the fowler’s snare
    and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his feathers,
    and under his wings you will find refuge;
    his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart.
You will not fear the terror of night,
    nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in the darkness,
    nor the plague that destroys at midday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
    ten thousand at your right hand,
    but it will not come near you.
You will only observe with your eyes
    and see the punishment of the wicked.

If you say, “The Lord is my refuge,”
    and you make the Most High your dwelling,
10 no harm will overtake you,
    no disaster will come near your tent.
11 For he will command his angels concerning you
    to guard you in all your ways;
12 they will lift you up in their hands,
    so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.
13 You will tread on the lion and the cobra;
    you will trample the great lion and the serpent.

14 “Because he loves me,” says the Lord, “I will rescue him;
    I will protect him, for he acknowledges my name.
15 He will call on me, and I will answer him;
    I will be with him in trouble,
    I will deliver him and honor him.
16 With long life I will satisfy him
    and show him my salvation.”

  1. It is a discipline to keep our mind focused on God because there are just so many things that can cause us alot of unrest. Yesterday two of my lady chicken were stolen. I suspect by the neighbour’s builder. The matter has been on my mind for long.

    1. Let it go. Bless the thief. I have a testimony of a brother we prayed for as a church when he was robbed. We blessed the theives and guess what! They returned what they had taken.
      Therefore, Bless the bulder with joy; because their hearts are darkened and they do not know God. Pray that they will come to the saving knowledge of the truth.Pray that love will be put in their hearts. God will fight for you.
      Sorry about the loss of the lady chicken though. May the Lord restore a hundred fold.
